Elmer S. Gish Parents’ Association Mission Statement

Our role: We strive to provide our children with the opportunity to thrive within a safe, inclusive community focused on academic achievement and social-emotional development, and to enhance the school experience for families through our fundraising and volunteer opportunities.

How: We promote meaningful involvement of parents in the school community by providing a forum for parents to use their voice. Support the school in its work with the students by attending monthly meetings, where you can receive valuable information and represent your views.

What: Contribute to a strong sense of community by becoming a volunteer. With your help, we raise funds to help facilitate events at the school, benefitting all students and fostering community spirit. This includes whole-school opportunities such as technology, recess equipment, landscaping, hot lunch programs, and more!

Examples: Healthy Hunger lunch options, Hot Dog Days, Purdy’s Chocolates, Mother’s Day Cake Raffle and more!

Why: Help us improve the education and wellbeing of your children. Being a partner in your child's education helps them to develop pride in their school and community, and allows you to meet other parents and be part of the school community.

Papa Johns fundraising for Compassion Committee:

Purdy’s Chocolates:
Flyers are set to go out around February 28, 2024. Order will close on or around March 13, 2024. Delivery will be on or around March 21, 2024.

Little Caesars Pizza
Dates are to be determined but we are estimating end of May into June. We will update everyone as soon as we have details! You can look forward to a contest, pizza party and prizes! 

Family Movie Night: January 26th, 2024 @ 6:00 pm – 9:00 pm

Mother’s Day Cake Walk: May 10th, 2024
Please join us in honoring the special women in our lives by donating a cake for our Mother’s Day cake walk. The cakes will be put on display and the GPA will sell tickets to the students for 0.25 each or 5 / $1.00. Each class will have a chance to tour the cakes and place their ticket in for a draw of their favourite ones. Names will be drawn at the end of the day and the lucky winners will get to take their cake home to enjoy. 

Spring Concert: May 16th, 2024
The GPA will be selling 50 / 50 tickets and freezies on site!

Staff Appreciation Potluck: June 5th, 2024
Every year the GPA hosts a staff appreciation Pot Luck to thank the Gish Staff for their hard work and dedication. Contact us if you would like to bring a dish for the staff to enjoy.

Father’s Day Pies for Pops: June 14th, 2024
This is a day that we invite you to honour those special men in our lives by donating a pie and pop for our Father’s Day Pie for POPS. The items will be on display and the GPA will sell tickets to the students for 0.25 each or 5 / $1.00. Each class will have a chance to tour the Pies & Pops and place their ticket in for a draw of their favourite ones. Names will be drawn at the end of the day and the lucky winners will get to take their winnings home to enjoy.

Track and Field Concession days (Divisions 1 & 2)
There will be a GPA led concession and Healthy Hungry Delivery on site.
