One of the goals of our division and school is to develop well-prepared students for lifelong learning.
As one strategy, Elmer S. Gish School has created our iLEAD program. At Gish, we behave as if this is the day we will be remembered for. Our goal is to inspire students to iLearn, iDream, iLead, so we succeed! The program encourages leadership, goal setting, responsibility and task-oriented behaviour in and out of the classroom.
In addition, the leaders at Gish recognize the importance of giving back to our community. Each year, we choose a fundraising focus for our school, and students work hard all year to raise money and awareness through bake sales, gym-a-thons and our 50/50 raffle at the annual music concert. In the past, we have been successful in raising more than $10,000 per year for causes like Ava's Answer for Cancer and the ALS Society of Alberta. We acknowledge that we can make difference!
